Interim Pastor

Rev. Dr. Nathan Swenson-Reinhold
Interim Pastor

Pastor Nathan is thrilled to be Rejoice’s Interim Lead Pastor during this time of transition.

At present his pastoral call is through the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana Synod Council to congregational development and support. He works with leaders, congregations, and denominational judicatories across the US supporting the work of leadership development, strategic visioning and planning, generosity development, and capital campaigns. Most of this work is within the ELCA, but it involves other Christian denominations and non-profits as well.

His family is relatively new to northern Texas. In the summer of 2022, he left a seven-year call as lead pastor of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, a multi-site congregation in Fairfax and Clifton, Virginia (just outside of Washington, D.C.) when his wife Erin, who is also a pastor, accepted the call to become Preston Meadow Lutheran Church’s new Pastor for Group Life. If you do not know, Preston Meadow is in Plano. Erin and Pastor Nathan and their daughter Emma reside in Frisco.

They have three children. Their oldest Sam (24) resides in Knoxville, Tennessee and works for a leadership non-profit. Their middle son Ephraim (20) is a sophomore at Texas A&M working on a degree in industrial engineering. And their daughter Emma (15) is a freshman at Lone Star High School in Frisco.

Pastor Nathan comes to you with 19 years of experience as an ordained pastor and with the gift of having worked with dozens of congregations and hundreds of leaders in transition. He has a deep and abiding love for Jesus and a core belief that Jesus loves and is still very much invested in the local church. He trusts that what he has to offer in the way of experience will be an asset to Rejoice as the church discerns its way towards new pastoral leadership.

Vicar Aaron Colwick,
Director Youth Ministries and A/V Ministries

aaron@rejoicelutheran.org

Aaron has been at Rejoice since 2018, and currently serves as Vicar at Rejoice Lutheran Church while completing his Master of Divinity at Wartburg Theological Seminary. He has been involved in ministry since 2006, serving as an Adult Advisor for the Lutheran Youth Organization, Children and Youth Minister at Advent Lutheran Church (Arlington, TX) and Grace Lutheran Church (Carrollton, TX), and Program Director at Briarwood Retreat Center. Along the way, he even spent some time playing in the Christian band "Scattered Seeds". Aaron is married to his wife Katrina, and together they have a daughter, Ember, and two rescue dogs, Ridley and Toby.

Born and raised in the DFW Metroplex, Aaron has deep roots in Texas, though he often feels most at home in the mountains, enjoying the outdoors and cooler weather whenever he can. He also enjoys playing slow-pitch softball, smoking meat on the smoker, watching sports, and diving into movies, games, and other nerdy hobbies.

Aaron believes that the heart of the Christian life is the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ. His ministry is grounded in the conviction that God meets people exactly where they are, offering forgiveness, renewal, and new life. He is passionate about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, known, and invited to grow in faith, ask honest questions, and discover the joy of living in God’s love. One of his favorite ways to explore faith is by creating Bible studies that connect Scripture with everyday culture, drawing insights from movies, music, TV shows, and video games.

Jordan Jones, Choir Director
jordan@rejoicelutheran.org

Jordan Jones grew up in a small town in North Texas called Leonard. They have been singing in church for as long as they can remember. Raised in the Churches of Christ, congregational singing has been an integral part of Jordan’s faith journey and remains central to how they experience their walk with Jesus.

For Jordan, singing is both an act of worship and a source of spiritual grounding—helping them remember the tools God provides to navigate daily life and to grow into the person they aspire to be. As Choir Director at Rejoice, Jordan seeks to cultivate a welcoming community of singers whose shared purpose is to minister to others through song, supporting both the Rejoice family and visitors alike in meaningful worship and praise to God.
