Elementary

(Ages 5 through 5th Grade)

Our Children’s Church is offered each Sunday at 10:45 am and 5 pm with an age appropriate bible lesson for children ages 3 through 3rd grade.   Some older children hang out with us as young helpers.  A different team of adults and youth lead Children’s Church each week.

Each Sunday, children join their parents in the sanctuary for the beginning of the service, leave with the leader after the Children’s Message, and return around the time of communion.   At Children’s Church your kiddos practice the Faith Five … a simple method of Family Devotions where we Share * Read * Talk * Pray * Bless.  They share their Highs and Lows for the week, help tell a bible story with a craft or object lesson, and share a *nut free snack.

(*if you have any allergy concerns, please tell the nursery caregiver before the service and they will relay the message!)

Our .345 Roundup is a Sunday Afternoon monthly fun activity for the families of children, grades 3 through 5.  Parents are encouraged to attend and kids of all ages are welcome (as long as one child in the family is a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader).  Every other month the .345 Roundup is a road trip to a nearby park, Urban Air, bowling alley, or laser tag facility.  Every other month we hang out at the church and play games in the backyard or Fellowship Hall.

Our Campfire is a community event held six Sundays a year in the backyard at noon, right after the 10:45 am service and EVERYONE in the church is invited, including children and youth, ages birth to 18 … and their families.  In addition to grilling hot dogs, melting s’mores, and singing camp songs, we explore one Stepping Stone of Faith through drama or creative storytelling.  As a community event, grandparents and uncles and aunts are especially invited … and the cousins too!!

Our Campfire is also a prelude to other Christian camping opportunities at Briarwood Retreat Center, like Advent Camp, Lenten Camp, Family Camp, and Summer Camp!

We Continue with Communion is our family introduction to another Stepping Stone of Faith at Rejoice.  Pastor Todd is available to meet with every elementary school child and their family to help you determine the best time for your child to start receiving communion.  We also talk about the Faith Five in more detail, a simple, fun way to do Family Devotions.  To schedule a visit with Pastor Todd, e-mail him at todd@rejoicelutheran.org or talk with him before or after a worship service.
